FANS loved a resurfaced high school video of Boston Celtics’ Jayson Tatum and Florida Panthers’ Matthew Tkachuk.
Two of the stars of the respective NBA and NHL Finals have a history.
Tatum and the Celtics will face the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Finals on Thursday, while Tkachuk and the Panthers will face the Edmonton Oilers in the NHL Finals next weekend.
Both go way back, as Tatum and Tkachuk attended the same school.
They went to Chaminade College Preparatory School in Creve Coeur, Missouri, near Saint Louis.
A video clip of a young Tatum and Tkachuk has resurfaced, during which the NBA star shared why he chose to attend prep school.
The younger Tatum said he chose Chaminade “because of the great people and fans,” while also giving credit to his high school classmates, including Tkachuk.
O future The NHL star was seen smiling and shaking his head throughout the video.
Fans were delighted to see the old clip of Tatum and Tkachuk together.
“What a small world they know each other!!!” one wrote.
“Two of the best,” commented another.
“Success leaves clues,” said a third.
The clip came from a video posted on Tatum’s YouTube channel in 2013.
Tatum won the Gatorade National Player of the Year award his senior year.
He graduated and played basketball at Duke before being the third pick in the 2017 NBA Draft.
Meanwhile, Tkachuck spent just one year at Chaminade before leaving school to join the U.S. National Development Tear to further his goal of being a hockey star.
He was the 6th overall pick in the 2016 NHL Draft.
Tatum made the All-Star team five times with the Celtics.
He will appear in the NBA Finals for the second time (lost to the Golden State Warriors in 2021-22).

Tkachuk was named a finalist for the NHL’s Hart Memorial Trophy as the league’s most valuable player for the 2022-23 season.
He will play in his first NHL Finals series.
