NBA fans are debating whether Victor Wembanyama is having the best rookie season in history.
The San Antonio Spurs star produced a never-before-seen statistic this season that has fans questioning whether he is one of the greatest of all time.
In his rookie season, Wembanyama became the first NBA player to record more than 1,500 points, 250 blocks and 100 three-point shots in a single season.
The first line of stats has some fans claiming he is the best rookie of all time and is on his way to being one of the greatest players in the game.
“Wemby is by far the best rookie,” said one fan.
“It really lived up to the hype,” said another fan.
“In my 27 years of existence I have never seen a newcomer like him. He’s phenomenal,” said a third fan.
“Dude, if he stays healthy, could be the talk of the town in 10 years,” said a fourth fan.
Although the Spurs are well out of playoff contention at 21-60 on the year, they are enjoying playing spoiler for the rest of the league.
San Antonio managed a 121-120 victory over the Denver Nuggets, number 1 in the Western Conference.
With Denver suffering the loss, there are now three teams tied for first place in the West with just one game left to play in the season.
The Nuggets, Oklahoma City Thunder and Minnesota Timberwolves are all tied for the lead with a 56-25 record.
Currently with tiebreakers, the Thunder are at No. 1, the Timberwolves are at No. 2, and the Nuggets are at No. 3.
All three teams are guaranteed at least third place.
On paper, the Nuggets have the easiest path to first place as they face the Memphis Grizzlies 27-54.
The Thunder face the 5th place Dallas Mavericks and the Timberwolves face the 7th place Phoenix Suns.
