BOSTON Celtics majority owner Wyc Grousbeck committed a rare disaster after his team won its 18th NBA championship.

Grousbeck was being interviewed by ESPN sideline reporter Lisa Salters on stage during the trophy presentation at TD Garden.

But the NBA executive mistakenly referred to Lisa as “Michelle” when asked about the team’s high expectations this season.

“Michelle, the brilliance of Joe Mazzulla is that he didn’t let expectations get in the way,” he said.

“Joe Mazzulla said there are no expectations, you have to win or die trying. Joe set a plan and kept everyone focused.

“These guys played team basketball, great Celtics basketball. It wasn’t about expectations, but about making it happen. Banner 18.”

It is believed that Grousbeck may be thinking of former ESPN sideline reporter Michelle Tafoya.

Many NBA fans were less than impressed with Grousbeck’s slip-up.

“Who the hell is Michelle,” said one fan.

“As in tafoya? What the hell?” another fan said.

“Michelle tafoya was there the last time they won the finals,” noted a third fan.

In a separate interview, Grousbeck revealed that veteran Al Horford will be back with the Celtics next season.

“Al is coming back next year,” Grousbeck told The Greg Hill Show.

“That’s what they told me.

“Ironically, we beat Al’s team in 2008. The Hawks took us to seven in the first round.

“So we were part of his drought and now he’s come home to us.

“He loves it here. He and his family love it here.

“He couldn’t be happier and we’re happy to have him too.”

Grousbeck added that there will be a trophy parade in Boston on Friday after the team’s vacation, which is believed to be in Miami.

“I’m very happy for Joe [Mazzulla],” he noted

“Joe, Jayson [Tatum] and Jaylen [Brown] I got a lot of pressure from a lot of people that if they were building a basketball team, I don’t know if they would win 10 games.

“So we will turn this page and have our parade.”
