STEPHEN A. Smith looked as sharp as ever outside the ESPN studios.
Known for his penchant for a good suit, the 56-year-old First Take host returned home after Tuesday’s show in a sharp outfit.
Smith starred on ESPN’s popular sports talk show alongside Molly Qerim, Andraya Carter, Brian Windhorst and Monica McNutt.
The hot topic was, of course, the drama of the previous night’s NBA Finals, when the Boston Celtics secured their 18th title with a 106-88 victory over the Dallas Mavericks.
After the show, Smith chose to remain in his suit as he left the studios.
He completed his look with a white striped shirt, printed tie, black leather shoes and sunglasses.
Stepping out into the summer sun, Smith seemed indifferent to the heat in the Seaport District as New York experienced a heat wave.
Smith was spotted by The US Sun leaving alongside a security guard.
The two could be seen chatting as they left the studio.
Co-host Qerim was also photographed leaving the studio, stopping to chat with friends along the way.
As always, she also surprised with her summer outfit.
Qerim’s ensemble included a sheer black sleeveless dress, green heels, sunglasses and a crucifix necklace.
Radiant in the sun, she stopped to chat with friends on the way home.
Carter, however, chose not to remain in the stunning purple outfit she wore on air.
Instead, she wore a sweatshirt, a T-shirt with the WNBA logo and white sneakers.
Upon leaving, Carter took the opportunity to stop to take a selfie with fans while carrying his belongings in a suitcase.
First look at the numbers
First Take has grown from strength to strength under the guidance of Stephen A. Smith and Molly Qerim over the past year.
ESPN’s weekday debate show averaged 496,000 viewers in 2023 — making it the most-watched year in the show’s history.
Its December average of 611,000 represented a 24% annual increase compared to 2022.
The show has also recorded more than 250 million views on YouTube.
First Take was helped by the addition of Shannon Sharpe alongside Smith and Qerim after he left Fox Sports’ Undisputed.
Elsewhere, get up! host Mike Greenberg was seen outside the studios wearing dark blue pants, a white shirt and black leather shoes.
Smith and Qerim have co-hosted First Take since 2015, when she replaced Cari Champion.
In September 2023, NFL Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe joined the show.
He appears every Monday and Tuesday, usually virtually.
Along with a number of regular guests, including Carter and Windhorst, they analyze a variety of sports, with a particular focus on basketball, football and baseball.
First Take is on ESPN every weekday from 10 a.m. ET to noon.
