And he wore a shirt with the words “State Your Source.”

This refers to comments Smith made on-air about Brown last month.

“I wanted to read to you what an NBA source just sent me,” Smith said during the Eastern Conference Finals.

“He said, ‘Jaylen Brown, it’s not so much that he’s underrated, it’s that he’s just not liked because of his I’m-better-than-you attitude. He knows that. It’s the same reason he’s not as marketable how much he should be.

“This is what an NBA source just sent me.”

A clearly angry Brown took to X, the site formerly known as Twitter, later that day and wrote “State your source.”

Brown has now repeated that message on the biggest of stages.

The Celtics are on top of the world right now, with Monday’s 106-88 victory over the Mavericks sealing a 4-1 series victory.

Brown won the Bill Russell Award for NBA Finals MVP.

He averaged 20.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 0.8 blocks and 1.6 steals per game in the series.

Boston descended into chaos after the Celtics won the NBA Finals, as many fans climbed lampposts and set Mavs jerseys on fire

He also played excellent defense throughout the series against Dallas star Luka Doncic, which was instrumental in Boston’s success.

“It was a complete team effort,” Brown said after Monday’s win.

“I share this with my brothers and my partner in crime, Jayson Tatum.

“He was with me the whole time, so we shared it together.”

It was a historic success for the Celtics, who sealed their 18th title.

NBA Finals Schedule

Thursday, June 6 – Game 1 – Dallas Mavericks 89-107 Boston Celtics

Sunday, June 9th – Game 2 – Dallas Mavericks 98-105 Boston Celtics

Wednesday, June 12 – Game 3 – Boston Celtics 106-99 Dallas Mavericks

Friday, June 14 – Game 4 – Boston Celtics 84-122 Dallas Mavericks

Mon, June 17 – Game 5 – Dallas Mavericks 88-106 Boston Celtics

(Boston Celtics won 4-1)

This saw them surpass the Los Angeles Lakers in the all-time standings.

And thousands of fans partied in the streets of Boston on Friday, celebrating with their heroes.

Brown, who signed a five-year, $286 million contract extension with the Celtics last year, obviously saw this as the ideal time to give his opinion.

He clearly still holds a grudge over Smith’s comments.

It will be interesting to see if Smith, who doesn’t normally suffer from shyness, now responds to Brown’s latest joke.
