In what appeared to be a Colin Jost setup, Che read a crude joke about Clark before going to the table to surprise him.

“The University of Iowa announced that basketball star Caitlin Clark will have her jersey retired and replaced with an apron,” joked Che.

The joke received a poor reception from the audience and Che quickly moved on to the next joke.

However, the next joke was a follow-up to get Che off his feet and allow Clark onto the set to deliver his baked goods.

“The WNBA draft is this Monday, and Iowa star Caitlin Clark is expected to be the No. 1 pick. Caitlin Clark is here to comment,” said Che.

Che was clearly caught off guard by Clark’s arrival, and the crowd went wild when she appeared on stage.

After being introduced, Clark had Che read a list of jokes she wrote for him that made the audience laugh.

“The Indiana Fever has the first pick in this Monday’s draft,” began Che.

“A reminder that the Indiana Fever is a WNBA team, not the one Michael Che gave to dozens of women at Purdue University.”

The joke sent the crowd wild and Clark couldn’t help but smile as Che told his jokes.

“See? That’s a good joke about women’s sports!” she shouted.

Clark ended his appearance on the show by presenting Che with an autographed apron to go along with his joke, and the two clearly hit it off chatting and laughing after the segment ended.

The piece made fans laugh, and Clark received rave reviews for her hilarious defense of women’s sports.

“CC is already an instant legend. It’s over,” said one fan.

“Oh she has so much off the court that she is a star for life,” said another fan.

“She should replace Michael Che as host of the weekend update,” said a third fan.

“She cooked him on and off the court,” said a fourth fan.
