SHANNON Sharpe responded to Jamaica’s Prime Minister during a live First Take speech on Monday.

The 56-year-old NFL icon has now argued with Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Holness over the rivalry between the US and Jamaican track and field teams.

Last week, Sharpe boasted about the U.S. women’s sprint team after sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson won the women’s 100 meters with a world record time of 10.71 seconds that punched her ticket to the 2024 Paris Olympics.

“We have something for you. Jamaican women, I’m warning you,” Sharpe said during her appearance on First Take.

This prompted Jamaica’s Prime Minister Holness to respond, saying during a press conference that Jamaica’s “talent pool it’s profound” while praising Kishane Thompson’s 9.77s run in the 100m last Friday night.

On Monday, First Take showed the clip of Holness responding to Sharpe.

Stephen A. Smith was on the show as he told the NFL Hall of Famer to “take care of himself.”

He then noted that Jamaica has won four consecutive Olympic gold medals.

But Sharpe continued to brag about the U.S. women’s side, noting that they won the 2023 Worlds Athletics Championships.

“Let’s start this with Melissa Jefferson. She will pass it to Twanisha Terry. Gabby Thomas is going to run to the curb,” Sharpe said.

“And when that thing hits Sha’Carri Richardson, kiss the baby.

“He finished.”

Smith didn’t buy Sharpe’s argument, saying the NFL icon is “sleeping” with Jamaica’s Ackera Nugent.

Stephen A. continued to tell Sharpe to take care of himself and even mocked his current running abilities.

Sharpe then brought up the fact that Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone lowered her world record in the 400m hurdles for the fifth time over the weekend.

The ESPN star offered the Prime Minister of Jamaica a bet.

Sharpe pointed his finger at the camera and sent a message to Holness.

“I will personally attend the handover if Jamaica wins [and] I would like you to appear in person to deliver what might be coming to me,” he said.

ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins was left hysterical by Sharpe’s message as the segment came to an end.

And the same thing happened to First Take fans when someone wrote, “This is crazy.”

“Sharpe is hilarious,” commented another.

McLaughlin-Levrone is the big favorite to repeat as Olympic champion at the next Olympics.

But the USA will try to break Jamaica’s dominance in the 200 meter event.
