ESPN Monica McNutt is really stealing the show on First Take this week.
Fans have praised McNutt for his eloquent take on the popular show.
Regulars Stephen A. Smith and Molly Qerim are absent at the moment, but McNutt is more than making up for it.
McNutt has been vocal about future prospects for success for NBA teams.
“I’m tired of doing this based on potential,” she said.
“What did you really show me?
“If we’re going to boil it down to one team that has their best core unit, it has to be the Boston Celtics.
“They just won a championship and have an open runway in terms of potential.”
Fans have been falling over themselves to praise McNutt.
Many have posted about her on X, the site formerly known as Twitter.
“Monica is the best thing in the first take. I love her,” wrote a fan.
“I like Monica McNutt. She is very good at what she does,” another fan wrote.
“You really get good, accurate shots of Monica,” said a third fan.
“I love watching Monica on TV, she’s one of the best there is,” commented a fourth fan.
When Stephen A. is on the show, McNutt isn’t afraid to stand up to him.
She recently told Stephen A. that, in her opinion, the show hadn’t given enough coverage to the WNBA before stars Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese emerged.
What does the new TV deal mean for the NBA?

By US Sun Assistant Sports Editor Damian Burchardt.
The new television rights deal promises to be a big win for NBA players.
The league is expected to more than double revenue from its media partners, pocketing around $6.9 billion per year, which will inevitably lead to a huge salary cap increase in 2025-26.
This will cause the value of players’ contracts to skyrocket.
Projected numbers suggest we could see the first $100 million per year deal being signed soon.
Boston Celtics All-Star Jayson Tatum is currently set to earn the highest single-season salary in NBA history, bringing in $71.5 million in 2029-30.
It seems like basketball fans would be on the losing side of the fight if the NBA and TNT actually split.
Inside the NBA is a unique sports entertainment program, as evidenced by ESPN’s continued failure to create its own version of the show in recent years.
The NBA won’t be the same without Kenny and Ernie trying to make sense of Shaq and Chuck’s endless fights every Tuesday night.
“Stephen A., respectfully, with your platform, you could have been doing this three years ago if you wanted,” she said.
Stephen A. was surprised by the comment and could only say “wow” in response.
Even after the awkward moment, McNutt reaffirmed his opinion. “You’re my guy,” she said.
The Celtics beat the Dallas Mavericks 4-1 in the NBA Finals.
It was the Celtics’ 18th title, and Boston celebrated long into the night.
This success put them ahead of the Los Angeles Lakers in the all-time rankings.
