BASKETBALL star Zion Williamson rushed out of Tuesday night’s game with an injury.
The New Orleans Pelicans player scored a season-high 40 points but was benched after knocking down a layup.

In one of Zion’s stellar performances of his career, the Pelicans star suffered a shocking injury during the Lakers game on Tuesday night.
With 3:13 remaining and the Pelicans coming back strong, he abruptly left the game with a left leg injury.
Williamson had just recorded 40 points, 11 rebounds and five assists.
He tied it 95-95 against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Despite his excellent performance, he appeared frustrated and in pain when reaching for a towel.
Snaps showed signs of discomfort to the player as he headed towards the bench area.
The Pelicans are set to face the Sacramento Kings on Friday – but it’s unclear if Zion will be well enough to play after his leg injury tonight.
After the game, Pelicans coach Willie Green said Williamson said, “Right now there’s pain in his left leg and he’s going to have imaging tomorrow.
“Let’s find out more. That was the report I got. I haven’t spoken to him.
“But we’ll see what happens tomorrow when we get the results.”
This isn’t the first time the 23-year-old has suffered an unfortunate injury while playing.
In February 2019, he hurt his knee a minute after Duke’s big college showdown with North Carolina.
The 6ft 7in, 20 stone star, then just 18, quickly tried to change direction, only for her foot to literally explode through her shoe.
After losing his balance, Williamson seriously injured his knee and was unable to return to the court for the game.

Williamson’s absence from the game was essential for the Lakers to achieve a 110-106 victory.
The team also secured the coveted number seven seed in the playoffs.
LeBron James’ team entered the NBA playoffs by securing 12 of 15 games.
The Lakers star said: “Tonight we showed what we were capable of doing both offensively and defensively.
“We have a good group right now, good rotation, good plan and the guys are coming in ready to play.”

Williamson finished his season averaging 22.9 points, shooting 57 percent from the floor, 5.8 rebounds and 5 assists per game.
He ranked first among all rookies in points per game, second in rebounds per game and first in offense.
