It’s back this year with a new name and Emirates as sponsor.

The 30 NBA teams will be divided into six groups of five within their conferences today.

ESPN will release the results at 7pm ET on NBA Today: Emirates NBA Cup Group Reveal.

The group games will begin on November 12th, with three rounds of disputes on Tuesday and Friday.

The NBA Cup Round of 16 begins on December 10th and 11th.

The semi-finals and finals will be held at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on December 12th and 14th.

Regular season action begins in October, with the Boston Celtics entering as defending champions.

Basketball legend Charles Barkley has gone on the attack as the NBA prepares to sign new television deals, calling players and owners “greedy.”

As the bosses work on new deals with ESPN/ABC, NBC and Amazon, Barkley put a negative spin on the relationship between sports and streaming operations.

Barkley joined CNBC for a special interview on Thursday and was in typically convincing form.

‘Summer league doesn’t matter,’ declares Undisputed star Rachel Nichols after Bronny James injury scare

“You have greedy players and greedy owners,” he said.

“They don’t care about anything other than making as much money as possible.

“We should never put money above the normal fan base.

“Everyone can’t afford streaming. There’s nothing wrong with streaming, but when you start only going to the highest bidder and it’s not on regular television, I think you do the fan a disservice.

“To be fair, players want to make as much money as possible. Owners want to make as much money as possible.

What does the new TV deal mean for the NBA?

By US Sun Assistant Sports Editor Damian Burchardt.

The new television rights deal promises to be a big win for NBA players.

The league is expected to more than double revenue from its media partners, pocketing around $6.9 billion per year, which will inevitably lead to a huge salary cap increase in 2025-26.

This will cause the value of players’ contracts to skyrocket.

Projected numbers suggest we could see the first $100 million per year deal being signed soon.

Boston Celtics All-Star Jayson Tatum is currently set to earn the highest single-season salary in NBA history, bringing in $71.5 million in 2029-30.

It seems like basketball fans would be on the losing side of the fight if the NBA and TNT actually split.

Inside the NBA is a unique sports entertainment program, as evidenced by ESPN’s continued failure to create its own version of the show in recent years.

The NBA won’t be the same without Kenny and Ernie trying to make sense of Shaq and Chuck’s endless fights every Tuesday night.

“But the fans are always the most important thing because no matter how much money you make, if people aren’t watching, it’s a lose-lose proposition.”

Before the NBA kicks off, two star-studded Team USA lineups will face the world’s best at the Paris Olympics.

LeBron James hopes to lead the men to glory in France.

But WNBA superstar Caitlin Clark won’t be making the trip after failing to make the women’s national team.

USA Basketball executive director Grant Hill distanced himself from that decision when appearing on Fox Sports.

“So I’m the managing director of the men’s national team,” he said.

“I’ll tell you what, I think our young WNBA rookies are fantastic and have a bright future ahead of them.

“Our whole team is going to be pretty dominant as it is.

“But I had nothing to do with it.”
