ESPN viewers slam Monica McNutt for ‘insane logic’ after analyst makes surprising pick for WNBA Rookie of the Year

“Yes, I didn’t know that until my little brother sent it to me this morning.” she told Clutch Points.

I think I probably shouldn’t have been the first woman to win that award, in my eyes, just because I grew up supporting so many different female athletes that I idolized and loved.

“The amount of records I’ve seen people break and win. For me, how has Serena Williams never won this award?

“I hope this is the start of women getting more recognition and their achievements being recognized more.

“Obviously, it’s cool, but it’s not something you would imagine, honestly. But for me, it’s just something I’m very grateful for.”

“Obviously Serena [Williams] did an excellent job hosting. I think this was great. But for me, Juju [Watkins] won, A’ja [Wilson] I won, I won some.

“I think it just shows the excitement around the game and how many people are watching and paying attention and where it’s going.”
