The Los Angeles Clippers will offer an unusual feature in their new arena for their 18,000 fans.
The NBA franchise has revealed a t-shirt cannon that can hit any seat in the venue.
The Intuit Dome will open this fall in Inglewood, California, as the arena will be home to the Clippers.
The arena cost $2 billion to build for Clippers owner Steve Ballmer.
And the 68-year-old revealed to reporters where part of this money is going in terms of entertainment for fans.
Ballmer talked about basketball jersey cannons and the fact that they can’t reach every seat in arenas.
“It’s unfair. It’s not right,” Ballmer said of the normal release of jerseys at NBA games.
Balmer then revealed cannons attached to the massive “areola board” that can reach fans everywhere in the arena – even in bloody seats.
NBA fans were impressed with the Clippers’ goal of making every person in attendance have a chance to receive a jersey at their respective game.
“This is probably the best thing an owner has done for a major sports team in a LONG time,” one wrote on X.
“Take notes, literally everyone,” commented another on the social media platform.
“This is amazing,” added a third.
“Balmer really cares about his team and his fans’ experience as a fan,” said a fourth.
The Athletic also revealed details about the halo jumbotron.
Some of the halo board effects incorporate lights built into the seats.
The board also spans nearly an acre.
The screen is 38,375 square feet and uses more than 233 million LEDs, which Clippers revealed.
The Intuit Dome will be the first arena the Clippers will not share with another sports franchise.
They have shared the Crypto.com Arena with the Los Angeles Lakers for the past 25 years.
The Dome will host the 2025 UCLA basketball season.
And the venue will host the 2028 Summer Olympics.
