INSIDE The NBA’s fate appears to have been sealed after TNT and the league were unable to reach an agreement on a new broadcast deal.

The NBA announced on Wednesday that, following the Warner Bros. bid, Discovery, the parent company of TNT, they decided to refuse.

The NBA explained in an affirmation that WBD’s “proposal did not correspond to the terms of Amazon Prime Video’s offer.”

As such, they signed a new long-term deal with the streaming service, to begin after next season.

This news came just one day after The US Sun revealed that TNT had matched Amazon’s offer, which is reportedly worth around $1.8 billion.

“Throughout these negotiations, our primary objective has been to maximize the reach and accessibility of our games for our fans,” the NBA said.

“Our new agreement with Amazon supports this goal, complementing the broadcast, cable and streaming packages that are already part of our new agreements with Disney and NBCUniversal.

“All three partners have also committed substantial resources to promote the league and improve the fan experience.

“We are grateful to Turner Sports for their award-winning NBA coverage and look forward to another NBA season on TNT.”
