TEAM USA basketball fans were excited by a video of Kevin Durant athletically dunking the ball in practice ahead of the Paris Olympics.
Durant’s fitness for the Olympics has been in serious doubt in recent weeks due to a persistent calf injury.
The crash means the Phoenix Suns forward was unable to play in any of Team USA’s Olympic warm-up games.
But the vision of Durant not only returning to training, but showing off your athleticism attacking the rim and dunking the ball left fans inspired.
“I need to see KD back on the court against Serbia,” said one fan.
“KD looks ready,” said another fan.
“KD finishing strong like this can only mean good news for the team,” noted a third fan.
The USA team’s first game will be against Serbia on Sunday.
And Durant is in a race against time to prove his fitness.
Team USA coach Steve Kerr recently revealed that Durant was Kerr, said Durant was “day to day” and that the plan was for him to have “a few practices in a row and a fight” before he could play competitively.
“The plan is for him to get in the fight and see how he handles it,” Kerr said, per ESPN.
“He looked good today and did everything and hit a lot of shots and told me he’s feeling really good.”
But Durant is unlikely to play in the opening game against Serbia, according to ESPN.
“I think [Team USA] I will play against Serbia without Kevin Durant,” Windhorst said on Monday night.
“Steve Kerr met with him today and they decided he needs more time with that calf strain.”
Windhorst’s report led to resistance from Durant and his team.

“Kevin wasn’t happy with me when he saw the TV report I did a few days ago saying I wasn’t sure he could reach all the milestones to play against Serbia on Sunday,” said Windhorst. .
“That’s because he’s working very, very hard to recover from his calf injury. Playing for the national team is extremely important to him.
“We’ll see how the next few days go and I want to take a step back and not bother Kevin anymore.
“And he won’t leave the table on Sunday against Serbia, but he will have to hold out for a few more days.”

“It’s Kevin Durant,” said Jrue Holiday, for Atlético.
“What are we talking about — we need him out there.”
