CAITLIN Clark took women’s basketball to new heights.

But according to his father, Brent, the 22-year-old basketball star could have taken a completely different path.

Clark’s high school football stats recently went viral thanks to WSJ’s Rachel Bachman.

With 23 goals in just 13 games, the Indiana Fever point guard was as dominant on grass as she was in college football.

“Frankly, and I’m not trying to brag about this, but I think she could probably have the same kind of talent in football as she does in basketball,” her father told Des Moines Registry.

“She could have been in the USA, on junior national teams.

“It was one of those deals where you had to tell Caitlin to stop scoring so many goals.

“She didn’t quite understand the whole concept. In her mind, the goal is to score.”

Clark’s scoring ability is how she made her name, but she also led the nation in assists at Iowa last season after racking up 170.

And some believe her football experience helps her see angles other players can’t.

“Does it need to be a jump pass? Does it need to be to the left or right hand? Does it need to be straight to the collarbone? Or do I need to pass it high? Big Ten Network Analyst Christy Winters -Scott he said.

“Caitlin He has, in a fraction of a second, the awareness and the ability to make the appropriate pass. That’s an elite-level skill that not everyone has.”

Clark may have been a huge success on the football field, but it’s hard to imagine her making more of an impact than on the court.

She was drafted first overall by the Indiana Fever after inspiring a meteoric rise in the popularity of the women’s college game.

Clark joins the Fever on a four-year contract worth $338,056.

And Kay Adams was shocked by her alleged deal with Nike.

During an appearance on Adams’ FanDuel TV show, Up And Adams, The Athletics’ Shams Charania went into detail about Clark’s monster package.

“It’s fair to say it’s over $20 million.”

He explained that she met with Adidas, Nike and Under Armour.

“I was told that the plan in that scenario would be for her to be part of Under Armor and Curry Brand, and possibly use Curry Brand,” Charania said.

Clark decided to stay with Nike after working with them in Iowa.

When pressed for details on the deal, Charania said he believes “it’s fair to say it’s in excess of $20 million.”

Adams was visibly stunned, giving a “shout out” to his team.

He added that Clark’s deal, which will include his own exclusive shoe, is “a multi-year contract, so it will be at least four or five years.”
