UNDISPUTED host Skip Bayless believes LeBron James is on the path to NBA success once again.

James and the Los Angeles Lakers are scheduled to face the defending NBA champion Denver Nuggets in the first round of the playoffs.

This matchup will give the Lakers the opportunity to avenge their 4-0 loss to Denver last May in the conference finals.

The second-seeded Nuggets enter the weekend as favorites against a Lakers team that had to overcome the New Orleans Pelicans in the Play-In tournament to reach the first round.

However, Bayless strongly believes that everything is falling into place at exactly the right time for the Lakers, and specifically James, to succeed.

“The Lakers will win tomorrow night and they will win this series in six games,” he predicted.

“Because I believe the basketball gods have tapped LeBron James on the shoulder.

“I believe they blessed you. I believe your planets just aligned in ways I didn’t expect.”

Bayless explained that he believed Los Angeles’ inevitable path to first-round success began when the San Antonio Spurs shocked the Nuggets in the penultimate game of the season, knocking them out of first place.

He then cited Pelicans star Zion Williamson’s abrupt exit from the game against the Lakers due to injury after enjoying “the game of his life.”

“[Williamson] left the facility and when he went up the tunnel the air went out of that building and that team,” Bayless said of New Orleans’ eventual loss.

As such, the Lakers’ subsequent victory guaranteed them a four-day break between games.

Bayless also noted that facing the Nuggets now rather than later in the Playoffs could benefit James since he is fresh and healthy.

If that wasn’t enough, he highlighted that James “just shot a career-high 41 percent from three” while also “coming up on a free throw shot.”

“[James is] coming to defeat his enemy with four days to spare… can he be cooler, or hotter, or better?” Bayless continued asking.

Unfortunately for Bayless, it doesn’t seem like many viewers agreed with his opinion on X, formerly known as Twitter.

'I believe they blessed [James]. I think their planets just aligned in ways that I didn't expect,” Bayless said.

“No, Nuggets at 4,” one commented.

“Man, they barely beat Zion. They were lucky he sprained his hamstring,” said a second.

“This confirms it. Nuggets in 4 or 5”, added a third.

While another predicted: “This won’t age well.”

Game 1 between the Lakers and Nuggets is scheduled to tip off at 8:30 pm ET on Saturday.
