Mike Tyson reveals the two addictions he gave up to beat Jake Paul as boxing fans say ‘that Mike is scary’

MIKE TYSON gave sex and smoking cannabis the knockout punch to help him beat Jake Paul.

Heavyweight boxing icon Tyson faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul in a controversial showdown on July 20 in Texas.

The fight – scheduled for 80,000 seats at AT&T Stadium in Dallas – raised eyebrows due to the 30-year age difference.

Tyson will be 58 years old when the fight for eternity arrives and almost 20 years after his last professional competition.

But he’s trying to turn back the clock in training and has been showing off his devastating combination strikes online.

And behind the scenes, Tyson is also making sacrifices and they include giving up sex and smoking marijuana.

He said Forbes: “I haven’t gotten high or had sex in six weeks.”

Asked why, he explained: “Discipline. You know discipline, doing what you love doing, doing what you love doing, doing what you hate doing, but doing it how you love it.

“You know, I hate that I can’t smoke, I’m doing this like I love it. I hate that I can’t sleep with my wife, but I’m doing it like I love it.”

Tyson conducted the interview with a stoic, straight face and one fan said, “That Mike is scary.”

Another added: “Discipline, come on Mike.”

During Tyson’s controversial heyday, he is said to have enjoyed having sex in his locker room moments before the fight.

This is despite the long-standing belief in boxing that abstinence helps increase testosterone, which is why many avoid having sex while training.

Tyson – who married Lakiha Spicer in 2009 – developed a cannabis empire in retirement and once admitted to smoking £33,000 worth in a MONTH.

He was last seen in the ring in 2020, for a contested eight-round exhibition with fellow great Roy Jones Jr.

Meanwhile, Paul is 9-1 as a boxer who suffered his only loss to Tyson Fury’s brother Tommy in February 2023.

But he has won three since then and vowed to put their friendship aside to score the biggest win of his career against Tyson.

Paul, 27, said on DAZN: “Uncle Mike, I love you, you look amazing but there can only be one winner and I’m sorry but I have to end you.”
