Fury, 35, is the bookies’ favorite to win the Rumble Rumble and become the first undisputed heavyweight king since Britain’s Lennox Lewis.

And former cruiserweight champion Johnny Nelson wouldn’t be surprised if he used some of the dark arts to raise his hand.

He said Celestial Sports: “Tyson is a fighting man, when the bell rings he will try everything he can until the referee reprimands him.

“Will it be physical? Yes. Will he use every dirty trick he can?”

“Undoubtedly. It’s a fighting game.

“Most fighters, when they get there, follow the rules.

“And when they are hit from below or with the elbow, they complain to the referee and, while they complain, they get a beating.”

Nelson reckons that Fury’s path to victory lies in being extremely physical with the former undisputed cruiserweight king, Usyk.

He continued: “He has to attack him, he has to lean on him, hit him, push him to the ground, get in his face, rub his glove in his face, do all the unorthodox things.

TYSON FURY VS OLEKSANDR USYK: ALL THE DETAILS YOU NEED BEFORE A HUGE UNFORGETTABLE HEAVYWEIGHT FIGHT

“He needs to shake the man up to feel comfortable.”

Usyk’s chances of winning the desert contest explosively were dismissed by many.

Fans spot Oleksandr Usyk’s ‘very clever’ tactic for Tyson Fury fight as he shows off body transformation in training

But not by Nelson, who is adamant the crafty southpaw can put him out of the count:

The 57-year-old said: “I think both men can win by knockout, without a doubt.

“Every heavyweight fight Usyk has, he gets more comfortable being there with heavyweights.

“I know he had five heavyweight sparring partners, I spoke to three of them.

“And they said he got stronger as the rounds went on, and he manhandled all five.

“We think Fury’s physicality will be a big problem for Usyk.

“But Tyson Fury’s physicality is his height, reach and speed, not his power.

“Speed leads to power – and both fighters can be knocked out.”

Should Fury suffer his first brutal knockout defeat, Nelson reckons the WBC king will bring the curtain down on his career.

He said: “If Fury gets knocked out like Francis Ngannou, he will throw him away.

“From him pride like a fighter will leave him internally combusting, no matter what his PR people say, if it happens to him he will have a hard time accepting it.

“He said before that he would have a hard time accepting losing to a small cruiserweight.”
