TYSON FURY has said the height and reach advantages he has over Oleksandr Usyk are not guaranteed to guide him to victory in the Saudi clash.

The pair will battle it out in all the heavyweight marbles on May 18 in the first undisputed division title fight in nearly 25 years.

Fury, 35, is the bookies’ favorite for the desert contest – with many believing Usyk’s height and reach disadvantages will work against him.

But The Gypsy King told Queensberry Promotions: “It’s not going to come down to, ‘He’s bigger than me or he’s smaller than me.

“I think it will depend on who wants it most that night.

“If he wants it more than me, he’ll win and if I want it more than him, I’ll win, but either way, I think we’re in for a real treat.”

Usyk’s chance at undisputed heavyweight glory comes after back-to-back points victories over Anthony Joshua and a ninth-round stoppage of Daniel Dubois.

Fury said of the Ukrainian: “He proved he can mix it up with the big heavyweights, he beat Joshua and Dubois.

“They are very big heavyweights.

“I’m messing with an elite fighter who has more than boxing skill, he is stubborn and wants to win like me.

TYSON FURY VS OLEKSANDR USYK: ALL THE DETAILS YOU NEED BEFORE A HUGE UNDISPUTABLE HEAVYWEIGHT FIGHT

“We both have talent, we both have good attributes and bad attributes, it all depends on who wants it most that night.”

Fury knocked Usyk down at almost every opportunity during the nearly three years leading up to their unification fight.

Fans devastated as Tyson Fury posts training clip three weeks before Oleklsandr Usyk fight and boasts ‘I wish it was tonight’

But he has apparently changed his opinion about the former undisputed cruiserweight champion, who he compared to the great Evander Holyfield.

The WBC heavyweight king said: “Usyk is a bad man.

“He is a very bad man and any underestimation of Oleksandr Usyk – you would be a scoundrel.

“I’m training a lot for him, I’m doing everything I can, I respect Usyk as a man.

“I respect his career too, he was an Olympic champion, had 350 amateur fights or something like that.

“And he’s been an undisputed cruiserweight champion and he’s a unified heavyweight champion. So, you have to respect that.

“I’m not fighting a guy who did 14 and won 11, I’m fighting a real guy, as real as Holyfield.

“I’m looking forward to the challenge.”
