CONOR BENN is once again suspended from boxing as he continues his fight against doping with the British Boxing Board of Control
The 27-year-old welterweight son of British ring legend Nigel failed two tests ahead of his 2022 superfight with Chris Eubank Jr.
He has always vehemently insisted on his innocence and claims to have spent more than £400,000 on lawyers and scientists to help clear his name.
Benn even had his ban lifted by the National Anti-Doping Panel in July 2023, but the BBBofC appealed that decision and the ban has now been officially strengthened.
A statement from the Board said: “The British Boxing Board of Control Limited refers to a statement published today, 10 May 2024, by UK Anti-Doping (“UKAD”).
“As UKAD has stated, the BBBoC can confirm that Conor Benn is subject to a Provisional Suspension which prohibits him from participating in any capacity (or assisting another Athlete in any capacity) in a Competition, Event or activity that is organised, convened, authorized or recognized by the BBBoC or any other sport compatible with the World Anti-Doping Code.
“UKAD and the BBBoC were successful in their respective appeals of a decision handed down by an independent National Anti-Doping Panel tribunal in July 2023, and Mr Benn’s Provisional Suspension was re-imposed by the appeal court following these successful appeals.
“As Mr Benn’s case remains before the independent National Anti-Doping Panel and the case will now progress in accordance with the UK Anti-Doping Rules, the BBBoC is unable to make any further public comment at this time.”
Benn doesn’t have a BBBofC license, but when the ban was lifted he managed two low-key fights in America.
But now that the ban has been reapplied, any commission that follows WADA (World Anti-Doping Code) will have a hard time licensing a fight with him.

Options for the undefeated puncher are limited, but the case can now be taken to the CAS (Court of Arbitration for Sport).
This comes after Benn launched a furious online attack against Ryan Garcia.
The American shocked many with his points victory over Devin Haney last month after drinking a beer while weighing 3.2 pounds over the weight limit for the fight.
After a complimentary message from Benn, Garcia went to X to fire at the Destroyer and state that he would go through him if the pair came into conflict.
It has since emerged that the former WBC interim lightweight champion tested positive for the banned performance-enhancing drug, Ostarine, before and after his shock victory.
Traces of SARM (selective androgen reception modulator) – which can build lean muscle mass – were discovered in Garcia’s final tests before the fight.
Garcia, 25, denied intentionally ingesting the substance, the discovery of which will likely result in his victory being reversed to a No Contest.
