Fury’s legacy-defining fight comes just four months after he was embarrassed by boxing newcomer Francis Ngannou.

The former UFC heavyweight champion put Fury on the canvas in the third round of the controversial cross-court clash, which he lost via split decision.

Fury’s preparations for the Saudi showdown were dismissed as a “circus” by his father John, who feared it could affect his preparations for Usyk.

And John’s harsh admission prompted a stern message for Tyson from former cruiserweight champion Johnny Nelson.

The 57-year-old said ProBoxing Fans: “It’s time, you can’t do anything about it.

“It might not be popular to say this, but if your own father is saying it.

“And one thing I will say about John Fury is that he will always tell the truth.

“He is a straight-talking man. If he’s saying that, you have to listen to him.

“But Tyson Fury, if he gets his act together, he still beats everyone.

“In his last performance, if he is honest about what he said, then his legs are gone. If he wasn’t honest, I think he could change that.”

Moment when Tyson Fury sees his father John covered in blood after fight with Usyk’s camp

Fury’s crossover clash with Ngannou was intended to be a showcase of his skills, but it ended up being almost the mother of all surprises.

The damage suffered over the ten rounds in Riyadh forced the historic title unification to be postponed until February 17th.

But it ended up being postponed until May 18 after Fury suffered a horrible cut in training.

And Nelson predicted a second postponement after learning of John’s concerns.

He said: “If he doesn’t fight on February 17th, we will have a problem.

“Because if his father is saying that now, you get the feeling there might be a delay, they might want more time.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if they wanted to delay it a little bit.”

There will be fears that the latest fight is turning into a circus after John was involved in a fight with Usyk’s team.

The incident left Fury Snr with blood pouring from his head.
