LAURA WOODS has pulled out of presenting Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk after revealing a horrific injury suffered in a freak accident.
The glamorous TNT Sports presenter was absent from coverage of Fury’s weigh-in against Usyk on Friday.
She was also not present at yesterday’s heated press conference in Saudi Arabia.
But Woods posted a heartfelt note on Friday night revealing she would not be able to attend the showdown following a horrific injury while on holiday with boyfriend Adam Collard.
The fan favorite revealed that she accidentally broke a glass lampshade above her head, shattering it and cutting her face and arm.
Woods was then rushed to hospital by Love Island star Collard, who stayed by her side as she was attended to by doctors.
But Woods feels he is on the mend as he continues to recover and thanked those who came to his aid while defiantly promising to “be back soon.”
She posted on Instagram: “I just wanted to explain my absence from television for a little while, to be completely transparent and avoid any speculation.
“I had an accident last weekend at a holiday home. I swung a pillow and hit a large glass lamp hanging from the ceiling above me, which broke and cut my face and arms, but fortunately missed my eye.
“I would like to say a big thank you, firstly to Adam, for being my hero that day, acting so quickly and not leaving my side since then, and to his family for looking after me at a time when I was petrified.

“To my agents Alex Maguire and Matthew Odonohue at CAA who sought the best help immediately.
“To Dr. Yannis Alexandrides and his wonderful medical assistant Zuzanna from 111, who opened their emergency surgery and came on their days off, they were so kind and already worked magic that I didn’t think it was possible to reduce the damage.
“I added the photos from then to show that even though it may seem difficult, it is already a wonderful improvement and I am very grateful.
“It was quite a shock and I was a bit sad, but I’m feeling really lucky that it wasn’t worse. So a big thank you to my eyebrow too, for bearing the brunt of this.
“I’m devastated, I can no longer cover the fight in Riyadh tomorrow, but I wish the brilliant boxing team at TNT all the best. I’ll be back soon xx.”
Fans were quick to pay tribute to Woods.
One of them said, “Get well soon, Woodsy.”
Another stated: “Sorry to hear that, terrible injury.”
One noted: “Oh my God, I hope you have a speedy recovery! Thank God his eye missed”.
Another added: “Glad you are recovering.”
