TYSON FURY’S nutritionist has spoken about getting Fury “fit and strong” ahead of his undisputed heavyweight title fight with Oleksandr Usyk.

And he even revealed the 6ft9 heavyweight’s favorite “cheat meal” ahead of the undisputed showdown.

Fury displayed a noticeably leaner physique in the lead-up to the fight and weighed 15.7 pounds less compared to when he fought Francis Ngannou in October last year.

His trainer, Greg Marriott, revealed all the secrets to losing weight ‘The Gypsy King’ in an interview with the BBC at the front of the fight.

Marriott got the call to tweak Fury’s fitness after his disappointing performance against Ngannou.

Speaking about the journey he took with Fury, Marriott said: “He didn’t look very good against Ngannou, so I thought I needed to catch up to him as quickly as possible.

“He will never have a good body – to make him look good would take a year or two.

“For this camp, the goal was to be fit and strong.”

After receiving a call to work with Fury, Marriott, 41, moved from his home in Sheffield, where he lives with his two children, to Fury’s family home in Morecambe.

He then followed Fury to Saudi Arabia as Tyson prepared for the biggest fight of his career.

Fury’s Fight Week Diet

Monday:

10am: Five eggs, spinach, turkey bacon omelet. Two large baked potatoes and 1/2 avocado.

1pm: Two bananas, cup of Greek yogurt smoothie.

3 p.m.:: Lemon pepper salmon, 8 ounces of roasted sweet potatoes, tablespoon of hummus, and 1/2 avocado.

6 p.m.: 8 ounces BBQ chicken breast, cup of rice with broccoli and tomatoes cooked in chicken broth.

9pm: Greek yogurt, blackberries, blueberries, strawberries and 1/4 cup granola.

12pm: Two smoothies, two bananas, Greek yogurt.

Tuesday:

10am: Roasted potatoes with rosemary, Two turkey sausages, Two scrambled eggs with cheese and pineapple.

1pm: Protein shake, banana, 1 spoon of honey, 1 spoon of peanut butter and Greek yogurt.

3 p.m.: 8 ounces of chicken curry with peas, carrots, and two cups of basmati rice.

6pm: Lamb kebabs with tzatziki sauce and hummus and basmati rice and sliced ​​cucumber.

9pm: Raspberries, blueberries, strawberries and Greek yogurt.

12pm: Shake, banana 1 spoonful of peanut butter, Greek yogurt and dark chocolate.

Wednesday:

10am: Three scrambled eggs with cheese, rosemary roast potatoes, shake, Greek yogurt, blueberries and two chicken sausages.

1pm: Sliced ​​apples, sliced ​​oranges, mixed nuts, Greek yogurt mixed with 1 tablespoon honey.

3pm: Two chicken thighs, chickpeas cooked with spinach in chicken broth with chicken sauce.

6pm Chicken breast, large roasted potato, sliced ​​melon and pineapple, side of asparagus with lemon, salt and pepper.

9pm Greek yogurt, sliced ​​banana, sliced ​​strawberries and dark chocolate.

12pm: Banana, tablespoon of peanut butter, honey and Greek yogurt.

Thursday:

10am: Three scrambled eggs with cheese, two chicken sausages, roast potatoes with rosemary, pineapple.

1pm: Shake, 1/2 tablespoon banana honey 1 tablespoon peanut butter, Greek yogurt.

3pm: Barbecue of chicken breast, peas and carrots and roasted potatoes.

6 p.m.: 8 oz lemon pepper salmon, basmati rice with tomatoes, spinach and basil cooked in chicken broth and 1/2 avocado, lemon pepper olive oil.

9pm: Blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, dark chocolate and Greek yogurt.

12pm: Shake, banana and strawberries.

Friday:

10am: Three scrambled eggs with cheese and spinach, three turkey sausages, roast potatoes with rosemary and mixed fruit.

2 p.m.: 8 ounces of blackened salmon, rice cooked with spinach, chickpeas, tomatoes, in chicken broth with hummus and avocado.

6pm: Two chicken thighs, roast potatoes, mixed berries and nuts.

9pm: Blackberries, raspberries, blueberries, Greek yogurt and granola.

The nutritionist talked about Fury’s ‘cheat meal’, which also looked outrageously healthy.

Marriott said Fury was presented with: “A good steak, some vegetables and some fries – you can eat it and it’s not dirty.”

When asked what Fury is eating before the fight, Marriott said: “He doesn’t eat much. Before coming to this camp, he ate two meals a day and drank a protein shake. He never ate so much!

“If I wasn’t doing my job properly, they [clients] I wouldn’t be in phenomenal shape.”

Marriott began his career in nutrition after beating cancer at age 27.

The Sheffield native was inspired to do this after working in fast food restaurants when he was younger.

This Small and Big affair will likely be confusing and more mundane than memorable, with lots of clinches and Usyk using mind over matter as his most potent weapon.

Logically, there’s no way the Gypsy King could lose – that old saying about a good big always beating a good small was coined for good reason.

If it was the Fury of three years ago, when he knocked out Deontay Wilder in the last of his unforgettable trilogy, then I believe Usyk – despite his masterful skills and boxing brain – would be facing a heartbreaking defeat.

But there was evidence seven months ago, when Fury was lucky to score a debatable points victory after MMA newcomer Francis Ngannou knocked him down, that his powers may be in decline.

Young Fury would never have been caught by Ngannou’s left hook that sent him to the canvas.

It will be no surprise if Fury uses his height and weight advantage to wear down Usyk physically.

But my gut feeling is that Usyk is smart enough to avoid Fury’s big punches and get a tight but decisive points victory.

Talking to people and boxing fans this week, I get the impression that Fury is losing popularity – not helped by his father John’s headbutting antics – and not many tears will be shed if he loses.
