ANTHONY JOSHUA has a “likely” next opponent set with Tyson Fury heading for a rematch with Oleksandr Usyk.
AJ was ringside in Saudi Arabia to watch Usyk dethrone the Gypsy King of the WBC belt to become undisputed king.
Challenging the winner was always considered unlikely as a rematch clause, but it guaranteed a return fight.
And sure enough, Fury invoked his right to redemption with a sequel set for this winter in Saudi Arabia.
Therefore, Joshua’s attention appears to be focused on Daniel Dubois and Filip Hrgovic, who fight on Saturday night in Riyadh.
Promoter Eddie Hearn said Boxing News: “At the moment it seems that the rematch will be carried out. If I’m Tyson Fury, I definitely want to do that fight.
“AJ would love to fight Fury next, he would love to fight Usyk next, but it more than likely comes down to the winner of Hrgovic against Dubois next Saturday.”
Hrgovic, 31, will represent Hearn in the 5v5 tournament of fights against Frank Warren’s picks, with Dubois, 26, on the opposing side.
And there was hope that the fight could even be for the IBF belt. Usyk, 37, appeared on the verge of being ousted.
But the Ukrainian has so far retained the title and wants to do so for the rematch against the 35-year-old Fury.

Joshua, 34, could fight Hrgovic or Dubois on the interim basis if Usyk is not removed.
And he is set to do so in September at Wembley as Saudi boxing boss – “His Excellency” Turki Alalshikh – prepares to enter the UK market.
Hearn said: “Nothing is confirmed yet. September is a date at Wembley mentioned by His Excellency.
“We’ll sit down next week and look at the plans, but a lot of this card and a lot of other things that are going on will be resolved in Saturday’s 5v5.”
