But the fight was thrown into doubt when Tyson suffered a health scare due to an ulcer outbreak.

Immediately, names like boxer Ryan Garcia and former UFC star Mike Perry suggested they would replace Iron Mike.

But MMA cult hero Chael Sonnen went a step further by stating that he has already been signed as a replacement opponent.

Sonnen, 47, posted online: “I think it was wise of Jake Paul to sign me into the contract as Tyson’s backup, wasn’t it???

“If Jake Paul realizes he can fight me in a month, HE might be the one having a heart attack.”

This provoked a mixed response online, as someone said: “I wasn’t planning on buying the pay-per-view, but I would buy this.”

Another added: “Tyson should stay out of it so you can show him how the bad guy does it.”

But one replied: “In your dreams.”

Paul continued posting: “You love making shit up before you know the facts about clicks/likes.

Tyson, 57, suffered the scare when flying from Miami to Los Angeles after feeling nauseous and dizzy.

Paramedics rushed to the plane to provide medical assistance to the legendary boxer, who later recovered.

Jake Paulo

Tyson is preparing to fight as a professional for the first time since 2005, despite returning for an exhibition with Roy Jones Jr in 2020.

But his 9-1 fight against Paul was officially sanctioned, as Iron Mike spoke out for the first time since his medical incident.

He scoffed: “Now I feel 100%, although I don’t need to be to beat Jake Paul.”
