The long-awaited clash between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua was sensationally billed as a battle of “TWO LOSERS”.

But the fight is seemingly a million miles away following the pair’s respective losses to undisputed heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk.

A victory for Fury in his December rematch against the former pound-for-pound king will further delay Saudi Arabia’s grand plans for him to finally dance with AJ.

But former two-time super middleweight champion Carl Froch might care ANY LESS about the Battle of Britain.

He said Mr Ping: “I’m not surprised Fury activated the rematch clause, where else can he go?

“Someone wants to see Fury and Anthony Joshua – they’re both losers, aren’t they?

“You have two losers fighting for second place.”

Froch would have been excited to watch Fury vs Joshua if the Gypsy King had won last month’s historic Riyadh fight with Usyk.

He said: “It would have been incredible if Fury beat Usyk, but now it’s two losers in a rubber match.

Despite all the love for the resurgent AJ… these two are head, shoulders and fists ahead of everyone else

OLEKSANDR USYK is the deserved and undisputed heavyweight champion of the world, writes Wally Downes Jr.

A big gun doesn’t always beat a big gun, not when David has the weight of a beleaguered nation on his shoulders and is able to land every countryman with every blow.

Usyk did what Usyk does, he moved magnificently, countered and outclassed his taller, heavier opponent.

Somehow, he manages to use every physical disadvantage to his advantage.

But what the hell is Fury doing waking up in round nine?

Why does a father of eight with £300 million in the bank, three best-selling books and a Netflix series go into the deep end?

Britain is not reacting to Putin’s army, Morecambe is not occupied.

So when the 35-year-old’s senses are scrambled, when the screen calls to him, when he’s so desperate not to get knocked down that he’s willing to jump through every rope like a drunk, when he eventually has to fall into a corner, Why doesn’t he just stay down?

He earned the right to surrender, as did his millions.

The guts, guts, and bloody mentality it took to walk off that deck, with a broken nose and shattered ego, is not comprehensible to us mortals.

Fury said he felt he won the fight, but it was too worthy to call it robbery or corruption. No doubt your father will tarnish that decency when you read this.

The rematch will be excellent.

Because for all the love we have for the resurgent Anthony Joshua – who was ringside at that iconic event – these two polar opposite men are head, shoulders, fists, hearts and brains ahead of everyone else.

There are the first two, then there is a void and then there is the rest.

“I’m not that excited about it if Nottingham Forest they’re playing, I’m watching it.”

“Fury should try to rectify the loss to Usyk. I think he needs to rectify the defeat if he wants to be remembered as one of the best fighters of the era.

“To be best remembered, he will have to beat Usyk.”

Fury, 35, has gone on record as saying his desire to fight Joshua back-to-back after realizing his dream of becoming undisputed heavyweight champion.

And if he wins the rematch and subsequent trilogy fight with Usyk, Froch has no doubt he will make a big splash in AJ.

He said: “Fury-Usyk was a close fight, so I would make Fury the favorite against AJ.

“What has AJ done since he lost to Andy Ruiz?

“He had comeback fights against opponents who didn’t want to be with him, lost twice to Usyk and beat Ngannou in exhibition.

“AJ was flattered by the low-level opposition he has been fighting.

“If Fury goes in there with AJ now on the back of that performance, I would make Fury the favorite.”

Former WBC king Fury is set to renew his rivalry with Usyk in Riyadh on December 21.

Joshua, in turn, is expected to return to the ring at the end of September in a domestic contest with interim IBF champion Daniel Dubois.
