ANTHONY JOSHUA is tired of “idiot” Tyson Fury disrespecting boxing, is happy that Oleksandr Usyk “beat up” him – and is still waiting for the chance to punish him himself.

The 34-year-old 2012 Olympic gold medalist was at Wembley on Wednesday to announce his September 21 IBF world heavyweight title fight with Daniel Dubois.

But he was more interested in reigniting his war of words with the 35-year-old Gypsy King and accusing the Mancunian of being a stain on the sport.

The Watford hulk was ringside in Riyadh last month to watch Fury have his nose broken and his dreams shattered, with Usyk being crowned undisputed king ahead of him.

And instead of offering his sincere condolences, Joshua – usually the gentle diplomat of the noble art – went both ways.

And he snarled at Wembley Arena: “I’m glad Fury isn’t the undisputed champion. I just think he’s an idiot.

“If it was someone else, I might think it would be a shame.

“I’ve always said he’s an idiot, he’s very disrespectful.

“Not that I mind, but I feel like he thinks stepping on other people makes him feel better.

“I’m not competing with anyone. I’m on my way, but he has to step on people to feel good, and that’s not good.

“The way he disrespected Usyk, calling him a bunny and a middleweight, is not good for the sport.

“If I respect you and you respect me, we can elevate this sport and people think we are two of the elite fighters in the world.

The winner of AJ vs Dubois will receive a huge reward

“But Fury will walk all over you and make you look like a guy who just came out of the bar and isn’t on his level.

“So he goes and gets a beating – he deserves it.” Ukrainian hero Usyk – who has now given up his IBF belt “as a gift to Joshua and Dubois” – triumphed by split decision after Fury threw away the early rounds, dominated four to seven but was defeated in the final sessions.

Fury was kind and generous soon after.

But he has since said he was robbed by the referees, that the fight was too easy and compared the Olympic gold medal winner and former undisputed cruiserweight boss to a local amateur slugger.

It’s this kind of nonsense that has infuriated AJ – who lost two decisions to Usyk gracefully – and he hopes that Fury’s December 21 rematch and his fight with Dubois will lead to the warring pair finally resolving their differences.

Addressing Fury’s trash talk, he said: “It’s up to him what he says.

“Usyk is a good fighter, there’s no denying it. Just give her the flowers and move on.

“I want him to win the rematch, in a way.

“I don’t care anymore if he wins or loses. I just want to fight him.

“It’s dragging on. Fury avoids a lot of people, he doesn’t fight a lot of people, a lot of top class people.

“He needs to move on and come fight me and stop wasting my time.

“I don’t want to wait until I’m 40, 41, 42 to fight him.”
