Froch revealed he challenged AJ after calling Cobra a “pr***” when asked to sum him up in one word.

In response, Froch dismissed the legacy of the two-time world heavyweight champion.

Joshua will attempt to become world champion for the third time against Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium on September 21.

Dubois was promoted to IBF world champion earlier this week after Oleksandr Usyk vacated the belt for a rematch with Tyson Fury later this year.

The pair almost fought on Thursday, with tempers already high months before the fight.

Ahead of the fight, however, Joshua is now involved in an online feud with Froch.

The 46-year-old attacked his British colleague in the latest episode of Froch on Fighting.

Detailing the private conversation, he posted screenshots purportedly of the chat.

Froch asked “who the hell are you calling a pr***?”, which prompted Joshua to say, “Because… I think you are.”

When pressed by Froch, he added: “I’ll just do it,” with the retired boxer responding: “Do something about it then, b****!”

Sharing screenshots of the alleged chat with X, Froch wrote: “Remember to STAY HUMILIATED and Cobra keeps your receipts.”

In the video, he explained: “So he called me a ‘pr***’ and I came back to him saying ‘who are you calling a pr***’?

“He came back and said ‘I don’t like you’, and fair enough, you don’t like me, but all I did was be honest and take constructive criticism about what you’ve done since losing to Ruiz and Usyk, and to where are you going now you are fighting Dubois.

“No need to get personal, no need to start with a man’s horn – by the way, it sounds really good.”

He then shared a video Joshua allegedly sent showing himself counting £10, £20 and £50 notes.

Froch continued: “So you have your £10 and £20 notes spread out on your bed saying [‘get on my level, get on my level’] levels, it’s all about levels.

“Where did the humble guy go? Where did ‘stay humble, stay humble’ go [quoting Joshua].

“He’s talking about levels and he says I’m not on his level. But he’s talking about money. Fair play to him – he made a fortune, he destroyed it.

“But let’s talk about levels in terms of legacy, career struggles and victories. A little fat boy from Mexico made him give up, for God’s sake. for the people in the crowd to help him.

“He was punched from one side to the other. The referee is looking at him – ‘do you want to keep going, do you want to keep fighting?’ And what he does? He give up.

“That’s embarrassing – something Cobra would never, ever do. And he can take it to the bank!”

Joshua has moved to 28-3 as a pro since suffering back-to-back losses to Oleksandr Usyk in his last two title fights.
