OXYGEN was rushed to the ring after boxer Rashid Omar was brutally knocked out by James McGivern.
The pair met in Belfast and put their unbeaten record on the line to challenge for the Irish lightweight title.
And it ended in a vicious knockout in the second round, when McGivern landed a stunning one-two combination.
Omar was falling when McGivern landed another left hand to knock his opponent unconscious.
Oxygen was brought into the ring as Omar recovered.
Fortunately, the Boxing Union of Ireland stated that Omar was later able to leave the ring without assistance.
Afterwards, an impressed fan tweeted: “Congratulations James. Onwards and upwards. Great photo and I hope Omar is ok.”
Another added: “Holy shit, what a knockout, I hope this guy is ok.”
One commented: “Great knockout.”
Another said: “Devastating right, what a shot!!”
In the qualifier, Pierce O’Leary won the Dublin contest against compatriot Darragh Foley.
The pair put on a thriller over ten rounds, with O’Leary coming away with a unanimous decision.
In a display of sportsmanship, the defeated Foley lifted his victorious opponent onto his shoulders after the fight.
