JAKE PAUL is training so hard to fight Mike Perry that his sparring partners have been sent packing.

The award-winning YouTuber returns this weekend in Florida against former UFC star and now boxer Perry.

Paul was initially scheduled to face Mike Tyson on the same date, but in Texas – until Heavyweight icon removed amidst a health precaution.

The controversial clash – analyzed due to the 30-year age difference between them – was postponed until November 15th.

But Paul – who last fought in March – decided to roll the dice and stay in the ring to keep his lucrative boxing career going.

This meant switching up his sparring partners and assembling a team of shorter heavyweights to replicate the 58-year-old Iron Mike.

So Paul quickly summoned an old friend and a secret weapon before his fight against Perry from Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship.

Briton Jake Bostwick – himself a wrestling boxer – has been a regular at Paul’s previous training camps.

So when the opponent was switched to Perry, it was a no-brainer to take Bostwick to the Puerto Rico training base.

And Bostwick revealed it was survival of the fittest in the camp – but one for which he has stood the test of time.

“I join because I give them a good job. And honestly, I can survive,” he told SunSport.

“Anyone else who comes out of the spar is usually sent home with injuries or simply can’t hang.

I was there for Jake Paul’s sparring session with Mike Perry and here’s why their fight won’t last long

“A few days ago, everyone got sent home and it was just me and coaches like JLeon, like, ‘Jake, bro, you’re always the one left.’

“I was like, I’m fighting, son.”

Paul’s assistant coach J’Leon Love — a 25-3-1 former boxer — was the one who invited Bostwick back to camp.

And Love, along with head coach Theo Chambers, are the ones who decide which paid sparring partners stay or go.

Bostwick revealed: “Coaches are sending people home, if they’re not performing or if they’re recovering, they’re going to be sent home.

“So you have to be able to take a few swings, take a few swings and still look at them, you know? And like I said, Jake is never an easy sparring partner.

“And he’s firing on all cylinders, 16-ounce gloves, helmet or not, it’s still a problem.”

Bostwick, 34, was first recruited by Paul before the American knocked out former MMA champion Ben Askren, 39, in 2021.

Coaches are sending people home, if they are not performing well or if they are recovering, they will be sent home.

In the same year, they also fought before Paul’s two victories over former UFC champion Tyron Woodley, 42, on points and then by knockout.

Around the same time, Perry, 32, also trained Paul, 27, in a session that has been widely contested before the boxing match.

But Bostwick insisted Perry is in for a rude awakening if he is betting on Paul being the same boxer he was years ago.

He said, “His power is crazy, bro.

“Every time we train, I’m like, I hope you don’t catch me with something, he throws a hard punch, he really does.

“He has definitely improved significantly, his movements, everything is much better.

“And I think even Perry fought with him back then, in the Ben Askren days.

“That’s when he moved in with him too. So for Perry to remember that and see where he is now, I think it will be a little shocking.”

Bostwick traveled with Paul’s team to Tampa ahead of the scheduled eight-round fight – but doesn’t expect the final bell to ring.

He predicted: “I honestly think Jake can stop Perry in four or five rounds.

“Stop him. Either a knockout to the head or the body, but I think he could definitely hurt him and get a stoppage. I really believe that.”
