HAWK TUAH girl Hailey Welch stole the show in Jake Paul’s fight with Mike Perry – but was criticized by a sports star.
Hailey became a viral sensation for a street interview she gave earlier this year, where she produced her catchphrase Hawk Tuah.
And she’s been making the most of her Internet fame by appearing on podcasts and hanging out with the likes of NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal.
His last public appearance was in the ring in YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul’s victory over Perry.
Fans welcomed her entrance and elegant black dress – but not everyone was pleased with her presence.
Outspoken tennis player Nick Kyrgios – who also works as a BBC commentator – was less than impressed.
Responding to a video of Hailey’s arrival, Kyrgios said: “There is no longer a correlation between fame and being actually decent at something.”
Hailey watched Paul, 27, take down Perry, 32, three times before winning in the sixth round.
Afterwards, she was a guest at Paul’s post-fight podcast and revealed that she became an instant boxing fan.
Hailey, 21, said: “It was awesome. It was really cool.”
The social media influencer revealed that she hopes to capitalize on her online fame with charity work.
She said: “I want to do more with donations and things like that. I just did one with PetsSmart, the animal shelter in Nashville.”
Meanwhile, Paul has improved to 10-1 as a boxer and hopes to fight boxing legend Mike Tyson, 58, on November 15 in Texas.
