SUPER heavyweight Delicious Orie saw that Olympic dream shattered by the latest shock decision at the North Paris Arena.

The 27-year-old Team GB boxing hopeful lost 3-2 on three of the judges’ five scorecards, with the other two cards being scored 3-2 in his favour.

After Orie’s narrow defeat, fans were left at a loss.

One wrote on social media: “A horrible decision. Delicious Orie has been stolen!”

While a second fumed: “Delicious Orie has just been robbed against Davit Chaloyan. This is an absolute disgrace.”

A third fumed: “This is completely disgusting. Team GB need to lodge a complaint. There is absolutely no way Delicious Orie could have lost that fight.”

And another added: “Delicious Orie didn’t lose that fight. What a robbery”.

Orie was the second seed in the super heavyweight field and was expected to compete for the medal in Paris.

The Wolverhampton star dominated the fight with his left jab and appeared to land all the shots that mattered.

But the judges were watching a different fight to the crowd and surprisingly scored it three to two in favor of the Armenian, leaving Orie stunned and breaking down in tears of shock and despair as he was led away completely destroyed.

He said; “Eight years ago I always dreamed of that gold medal at the Olympic Games.

“Now that has been taken away from me.

“It could be me, it could be the judges. That was what happened.

“But I feel like I let myself down and I let my family down.”

Orie followed teammates Charley Davison and Rosie Eccles in being on the wrong side of shocks and with Patrick Brown also eliminated in the first round, GB are just two fights away from a first round exit.

He added: “I can’t believe it because I’m sure I’ve done enough.

“It’s too early to start saying it’s unfair, although I feel wronged, and the same happened to Charley and Rosie. But it leaves a bitter taste.”
