RYAN Garcia’s ex-wife has reportedly filed a request for a restraining order against the boxer.
Andrea Celina Velarde accused Garcia, a former WBC interim champion, of threats and harassment against her family.
Velarde filed for the order in Los Angeles last week, according to court documents seen by TMZ.
Garcia was “increasingly out of control and erratic,” according to the report.
The 25-year-old former WBC lightweight title holder allegedly harassed Velarde and his brother at a restaurant earlier this month.
Alleged text messages seen by TMZ in court documents appear to show Garcia saying he will launch “a hit” on Valarde’s brother.
Garcia married Velarde in 2021, and the two divorced in January of this year.
The couple told the channel that “they have spoken and are committed to peacefully resolving their issues.”
Velarde contacted his attorney to ask about rescinding the order, the TMZ report adds.
A trial date has been set for next month if the TRO remains in effect.
The court order prohibits Garcia from coming within 100 meters of Andrea, her two children, her brother or her parents.
Garcia is currently banned from boxing for a year after failing a drug test.
He tested positive for the banned substance ostarine in two separate tests taken before his fight with Devin Haney in April.
Garcia recently claimed he entered rehab after a series of vile comments online, which included racial slurs.
“I grew up in a neighborhood where everyone said that word that I am now abolishing from my vocabulary,” Garcia said in a statement on Instagram.
“I supported a lot of black men and black communities.
“I’m not mad about the outrage and I sincerely apologize if I hurt and offended anyone.”

Boxing promoter Oscar de la Hoya criticized Garcia’s posts and insisted his apology was just the first step in making amends.
“There is no room for hate or intolerance in my company. Period,” he posted on X.
“I condemn Ryan’s words in the strongest possible terms.
“I see he has apologized, and that is a start – but it is only a start to regaining the trust and respect of those of us who supported him and continue to support him.
“We hope Ryan uses the time he has away from the sport to work on the issues he has discussed publicly.
“We’re ready to help in any way we can.”
Garcia was also expelled from the World Boxing Council.
“Exercising my authority as President of the WBC, I am hereby expelling Ryan Garcia from any activity with our organization,” said WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman.
“We reject any form of discrimination. I fear for [Garcia’s] well-being.”
