“He threw some good punches, didn’t hurt me, made him back up throughout the fight, hit him with some good shots and made him stumble a few times.
“I told Spencer Brown we need different judges, not anywhere near California.
“We have a judge from California, a judge from Nevada. We knew we were going to our hometown.
“One judge gave it to me, two tied it, so that tells my whole story. Outside of boxing, Andy is my brother.
“But I know I worked my ass off, I know I had this in the bag. There were a few moments where my feet got a little stuck in the sand.
“I know we were guaranteed a fight.”
Ruiz, who received boos from the crowd, showed his injured right hand and said: “It was crazy, I hadn’t fought in two years, but I would love to do a rematch.
“Let’s do it again. It was very tiring. You have a 300-pound man coming at me, throwing and throwing.
“I think I did a lot of good by taking the two-year layoff. Like I said, let’s do it again.
“I hurt my right hand, you can see the bone right here. Let’s do it again.”
