As North Carolina continues to move forward with the top targets on its big board for the 2025 class, one prospect that is emerging as a big target is five-star offensive lineman Nate Ament.

The top 10 recruit is scheduled to visit North Carolina in the fall, giving the Tar Heels a chance to impress him. And after a busy summer where Ament improved his stock as a recruit, he’s becoming a priority for many programs.

Ament reached Charlie Pai from Zag’s Blog recently to talk about the teams in his recruitment, including North Carolina. Here’s what Ament had to say about UNC:

North Carolina: “It says a lot to be super close in your [Hubert Davis’] first year. [It’s] another prolific offense and he continues to develop players as well.”

Other programs in strong pursuit include Duke, UConn, Kentucky and Virginia, all programs Ament visited this fall. This will be a tough recruitment for UNC due to teams fighting to sign him.

But receiving that visit and continuing to establish that relationship is important.

Ament is ranked No. 7 nationally, No. 4 power forward and the No. 1 player in the state of Virginia according to the 247Sports Recruiting Rankings.
