Alabama basketball has reloaded for the 2024-25 season.
The Crimson Tide, fresh off their first Final Four appearance in program history, were listed No. 6 in ESPN’s “very early” rankings on Monday, behind only Kansas, Houston, Iowa State, Gonzaga and Baylor .

Alabama All-American guard Mark Sears has yet to announce whether or not he will return to school as he has declared for the 2024 NBA Draft, maintaining his college eligibility. Jarin Stevenson has also entered his name into the NBA draft and could return as well.
The Crimson Tide is also returning defensive lineman Grant Nelson, who averaged 11.9 points per game in his first season at Alabama after transferring from North Dakota State. Nelson will be paired with former Rutgers forward Clifford Omoruyi, considered one of the best players available in the transfer portal.
Alabama coach Nate Oats has taken Alabama to unprecedented heights since taking over in 2019, and could have his most talented team if Sears returns, along with the Crimson Tide’s transfer additions.
