North Carolina is still finalizing its 2025 recruiting board, adding names to what is already an established list. While some prospects they have contacted have not yet offered, it is almost never too late to get involved.

One prospect UNC has been in contact with is four-star forward Nate Ament. The Virginia native has a total of 20 offers with programs such as Duke, State of FloridaOle Miss, Indiana and Illinois, among others.

But it looks like UNC is out there like you said Rivals.com’s Rob Cassidythat the Tar Heels sent him some messages:

IN NORTH CAROLINA

“They were in one of my offices. I don’t see them much, but they send me a few messages.”

Now it’s probably not enough to say that UNC is a legitimate contender in this recruitment. But it’s notable that they contacted the 6-foot-5, 170-pound forward. Ament is ranked No. 13 nationally, the No. 5 power forward and the No. 1 player in the state of Virginia according to the 247Sports Recruiting Rankings.

Will they move forward to pursue this target of the Duke? Or will they defer and focus on other prospects in their 2025 board?

Time will tell about that.
