HOOVER, Ala. – The No. 5 prospect in the class of 2025, Koa Peat is a big national name with big national offers. However, the Arizona-based five-star is in no rush to make a decision as he still has a few campus visits on his to-do list.

Rivals recently spoke with Peat about what’s next in his process.

ON IMMINENT VISITS:

“I will visit Houston, June 6th to 8th. So I’ll take another unofficial one to Arizona this summer. Then I will have more staff in the fall. I’ll probably go to Duke, Arkansas It is Baylor.”

ON YOUR NEXT VISIT TO HOUSTON:

“I’m excited to see the campus, the facilities and everything. I already know the coach K.C. [Beard] and the head coach, coach [Kelvin] Samson very well, but I’m excited to meet them and interact with them in person and everything.”

IN ARKANSAS:

“Trainer [John] Calipari contacted me the following week after he left for Arkansas. He just said he wants me to play for him. He needed a change and wants me to come visit him. He had a great resume at Kentucky, but things happen in basketball. It’s crazy right now.”

AT BAYLOR:

“They say they want to play with me all over the court. I like that. They also always have a winning team, so that’s really cool. Being able to see the campus is exciting.”

ON WHETHER ARIZONA TALKED TO HIM ABOUT HIS TRANSITION TO THE BIG 12:

“They didn’t touch on it much, to be honest. When I talk to Arizona now, we mostly talk about how I’m doing. We don’t really talk about basketball much. We talk about many other things. I’ve been there three or four times and I’m going back this summer. I’ll probably hire an officer in the fall as well.”

REACTION FROM RIVALS

Peat’s relationship with the Arizona staff is definitely notable and will keep the Wildcats in the hunt until the end. Fending off heavyweights like Duke, Houston, Arkansas and North Caroline This is easier said than done, however, and it is difficult to make a solid prediction on where the five-stars could land at this point.

An upcoming visit to Chapel Hill could go a long way toward determining how Peat’s recruitment will go.
