With the start of the 2024-25 college basketball season still months away, parts of the schedule are starting to be released.
For the North Carolina Tar Heels, they have another tough non-conference schedule this year, including heading to Lawrence to face Kansas. And now, they’re adding another Blue Blood show to the lineup.
By Jeff Goodman, UNC will face UCLA on the CBS Sports Classic this season and will be at Madison Square Garden in New York. It’s the second year in a row that the Tar Heels have played at the iconic venue, as Hubert Davis said he wants his program to be have a presence there.
The Tar Heels fell to eventual national champion UConn in the Jimmy V Classic last season at MSG.
This year’s matchups for the CBS Sports Classic, which will be on Dec. 21, source said @thefieldof68.
Kentucky vs. Ohio State
North Carolina vs. UCLA
It will likely be held at Madison Square Garden, per source.

The CBS Sports Classic will feature a doubleheader with Kentucky It is Ohio State facing too. Last season, UNC fell to Kentucky in the event held in Atlanta.
UNC is 6-4 overall in the event, including a 2-0 record against UCLA. The last time the two teams met at the event was in 2019. They were supposed to meet in 2021 but it was canceled due to COVID-19.
