UNC basketball recruitment framework for 2025 and the classes of 2026 are beginning to take shape. As Hubert Davis and his staff look to build a strong 2024 class, the focus is on the two future classes in hopes of landing some great talent in Chapel Hill.

One player the Tar Heels have their eye on is 2025 point guard Jasper Johnson.

The Missouri native plays at Link Academy, the same program from which UNC signed Elliot Cadeau and James Brown. The hope is that UNC can add a top-tier talent like Johnson to their 2025 class, giving them a nice addition to the future backcourt.

Johnson has a total of 21 offers in his recruitment and is now expected to make some visits. Per Joe Tipton from On3Johnson arranged visits to both Alabama and Illinois for his recruitment.

The guard recently visited Kentucky and was also on the UNC campus, watching the Tar Heels defeat Duke last season.

The 6-foot-2, 175-pound Johnson is a five-star recruit ranked No. 13 overall, the No. 2 point guard and the No. 1 player in the state of Missouri according to the 247Sports Recruiting Rankings.

His visit to Alabama is scheduled for June 22, while he will visit Illinois on June 24.
