A Nebraska The basketball guard has been officially cleared for basketball activities. CBS Sports College Basketball Insider Jon Rothstein broke the news that a new transfer Rollie Worst can now participate in all team/individual related training.

Worster played in 16 games last season before suffering a season-ending foot injury. He averaged 9.9 points, 5.5 assists and 4.9 rebounds per game.

The point guard spent the last three years with the Utah Utes. Basketball head coach Fred Hoiberg We previously discussed the Huskers’ targeting of Worster early in the process.

“We picked Rollie early on as someone who could come in and elevate our program. The first thing you look at is his experience and ability to make decisions on the court. He started in the Pac-12 the last three years and had an assist-to-turnover ratio of nearly 2.5 to 1. Rollie was among the conference leaders in assists two years ago and was on pace to put up better numbers before his injury in January. He also gives us positional size in the backcourt while also being an excellent rebounder and defender.”

Worster was a two-time Montana Gatorade Player of the Year at Hellgate High School. He was also an accomplished football player, earning first-team all-state honors as a safety and honorable mentions as a defensive back.
