Former Colorado football quarterback Drew Carter hasn’t given up on his college basketball career just yet.
After spending last season playing at UC Davis, Carter announced via Instagram on Friday his commitment to the Oregon Ducks men’s basketball program. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound Oregon native will join coach Dana Altman’s staff as a walking guard, according to Ducks Digest.
At UC Davis last winter, Carter saw a total of 22 minutes of action in nine games played. He finished the year with 11 total points, including six in UC Davis’ season opener against Jessup.
Carter spent two seasons with the Buffs as a backup QB, appearing in nine total games before entering the transfer portal in April 2023. Colorado men’s basketball coach Tad Boyle welcomed Carter as a replacement during the 2021-22 session, although he never saw game action.
