AUGUSTA NORTE, SC – Jason Crowe Jr. has long been a talked-about name in college coaching circles and continued to receive scholarship offers this summer, holding off 10 PPG and 4.1 APG for Team WhyNoty on the EYBL circuit. Rivals caught up with Crowe after one of his Peach Jam games to discuss his college options, visit plans and what could be next in his process.

ON THE CALLS HE RECEIVED WHEN THE CONTACT PERIOD OPENED ON JUNE 15

“June 15th was fun, but not me; receive any call at midnight. I didn’t receive any until the morning. They made me stay up because I thought I would get calls at midnight. That didn’t happen, but that’s okay. I’m just taking it all in and taking it one day at a time.”

IN SCHOOLS WITH MORE FREQUENT CONTACT SINCE THE 15TH

“It has mainly been João Calipari It is Eric Musselman in Arkansas It is USC. A few others too, but mostly them.

IN ARKANSAS

“I feel like I’m wanted in Arkansas. Calipari is always rooting for me. He comes and supports me. He has been talking to me or calling me after most of my games. I feel like this is good.”

AT USC

“Eric Mussleman is really interested in helping me and I like that. He tells me to play with confidence. In my first game of Peach Jam, I started out a little shaky. After that we talked and looked at the box score and talked about things I could do to improve. He wants nothing but good for me, and that’s great.”

ON VISITS, HE HOPES TO TAKE THE ROAD

“Probably Miami and Arkansas for sure. I will probably visit USC and UCLA, too, but that’s it for now.”

RIVALS REACTION: UCLA has long been seen as an important player for Crowe and some would say the Bruins were, at least at one point, the clear leader. That said, there is also a strong chance that the five-star ends up playing professionally overseas after his high school career. Schools like Arkansas, Miami and USC obviously deserve to be watched closely as well. Crowe’s recruitment is inconsistent right now and he could go in several directions over the next year.
