Entering the circuit season, Kayden Mingo He was very tactical with his approach.
His primary focus has been built around growth as a playmaker and playmaker in all facets as he steps out of the shadows produced by playing alongside VJ Edgecombe for several years and embraces his role as a leader.
In August, Mingo was one of the most efficient offensive scorers in the Nike EYBL, draining 1.06 points per possession and averaging 18.1 points per game this summer, leading the PSA Cardinals.
“I feel like my game has grown in a lot of ways, for sure,” Mingo said. “The most important thing for me was growing as a leader and improving my teammates. I want to be able to change the game not only for myself but also for my teammates, so I feel like the mental part of my game has grown a lot.”

If college coaches’ stalemate at their games this summer was any indication, the pursuit of the 6-foot-2 point guard has only intensified.

On the defensive end, Mingo, who ranks 43rd overall in Rivals150, is a bulldog of a full-court defender with great expectations in the passing lanes.
“I’m thinking I’d like to have my decision sorted out before the season starts in November,” Mingo said. “I’m attending every visit trying to see everything and get all the information and just build relationships with the different teams. I feel like you can learn a lot from them, so I’m going to stay open.”
