The Ohio State basketball non-conference schedule for the 2024-2025 season is complete. According to an announcement from the OSU Athletics Department, the Buckeyes will face an SEC opponent, Auburn in Atlanta on Saturday, December 14 at State Farm Arena.
The news was shared in several media outlets and also announced on social media on Monday. For Ohio State, this rounds out a very competitive non-conference slate. The Buckeyes were already scheduled to Texas in Las Vegas to open the year, will travel to Texas A&Mwill play at home against Pitt and will also play against Kentucky at Madison Square Garden as part of the annual CBS Sports Classic.
Big Ten opponents and the remainder of the non-conference slate have been previously announced.
Auburn is currently experiencing one of the most successful periods in its history under head coach Bruce Pearl. The program has been to six NCAA Tournaments in the last six years, won the SEC Tournament last year and reached the Final Four in 2019.
Ohio State and Auburn have met only once, according to the records that can be found, and that was during a Final Four contest played by the Buckeyes in the 1999 season, when OSU defeated the No. 1 seed Tigers 72-64.
