Clemson sophomore receiver Cole Turner named to 2024 Comeback Player of the Year Awards Watchlist by College Sports Communicators in association with the Associated Press (AP) and the Fiesta Bowl Organization on Wednesday.
Turner begins his third season with the Clemson program. He appeared in the Tigers’ first two games a year ago before suffering a season-ending injury in Clemson’s Week 3 win over Florida Atlantic, tearing three abductor muscles after making a combined three catches for 28 yards in the first two games. 2023. He caught eight passes for 161 yards as a freshman in 2022.
Turner is one of 17 ACC players on the watch list. Three winners receive the award each year at the Fiesta Bowl in Glendale, Arizona. Last year, the three winners were Blake Corum of Michigan, Mike Hollins of Virginia and Jacob Dobbs of Holy Cross.
Listed at 6-foot-3 and 185 pounds, Turner is rated as a three-star recruit out of Birmingham’s Vestavia Hills High School in the 2022 recruiting class.
