The Georgia Bulldogs were heavily selected as the best team in the country throughout the preseason, including in the release of the US LBM Coaches Poll earlier this week. However, one prominent college football analyst sees the Dawgs Schedule as a potential obstacle to a fourth consecutive undefeated regular season.
Josh Pate of CBS Sports predicts the Bulldogs to finish 10-2, with a best-case record of 12-0 and worst-case record of 8-4. Pate ranked Georgia as the best overall team in the country, but points out that they will have to face six other teams that he ranked in the top 25, namely Clemson, Alabama, Florida, TexasHi Miss, and Tennessee. Pate remembers that five of these six clashes also take place outside of Athens.
If Pate’s prediction comes true, Georgia will suffer its first regular season loss since Nov. 7, 2020, against the Florida Gators. Pate also recently projected that the Bulldogs would fall short of SEC Championshipselecting Texas and Ole Miss to meet in Atlanta.
