The recruiting battle for five-star quarterback Julian “JuJu” Lewis has been an emotional one for everyone involved, except perhaps the USC Trojans.
Lewis, the fourth ranked QB in the class of 2025 (Image: Getty Images)247Sports compound), committed to the Trojans almost a year ago. Since then, his word to USC has steadily weakened as other programs, including the Colorado Buffaloes, have worked tirelessly to steal Lewis’ commitment.
With Lewis’ final decision looming, 247Sports Recruiting Analyst Tom Loy believes USC’s cancellation of commitment is almost certain. Unfortunately for the Boulder community that helped with CU’s recruiting campaign for Lewis, Loy currently gives the Indiana Hoosiers the edge.
Here’s what Loy said about Lewis on Monday:
“I don’t expect him to keep his promise to the Trojans,” Loy said. “The teams to watch: Indiana, Colorado and, to a lesser extent, Auburn… If I had to choose between the two (Indiana and Colorado), I would give the edge to Indiana.”
Loy explained how the Brown Tigers fell out of the race in July while Indiana’s coaching staff, specifically head coach Curt Cignetti and QB coach Tino Sunseri, built strong relationships with Lewis. Given the fact that Loy still considers Colorado and Auburn to be up for grabs, it suggests Lewis’ decision is still up in the air.
