After a busy Sunday for Nate Aveia and the Alabama Crimson Tide men’s basketball team, it looks like Kalen DeBoer and the Alabama football team got some good news as well.
Matt Zenitz of 247Sports is reporting that Wake Forest transfer cornerback DaShawn Jones is trending toward a commitment to Coach DeBoer and the Crimson Tide.
Jones was on a visit this weekend in Tuscaloosa with the Alabama coaching staff and all signs point to the team doing everything possible to land the talented corner.
Jones started the last two seasons for the Demon Deacons and had a breakout season in 2023, collecting three interceptions as a sophomore.
Former Wake Forest cornerback DaShawn Jones is expected to transfer to Alabama, sources say @247esportes.
He was a two-year starter at Wake and finished last season with three interceptions. It has also attracted interest from other high-end programs such as LSU.… pic.twitter.com/VnqhV4gnUC

Adding a talented player like Jones would be critical for coach DeBoer and Alabama, as a lack of depth and experience is an off-season issue in the secondary.
