When you’re the starting quarterback of the Alabama Crimson Tide football team, everything you do is put under a microscope and dissected like some weird science project. If you don’t believe me, ask Jalen Milroe.

Despite leading Alabama to the CFP semifinals and putting together more than 3,200 yards of offense and 35 touchdowns last season, Milroe’s ability to lead the Crimson Tide program remains a question for some.

Speaking at the Regions Tradition Pro-Am on Wednesday, Alabama’s new head coach Kalen De Boer was asked where he would like to see Milroe improve as he prepares for the 2024 college football season.

“He’s really come a long way in processing, in playing, in moving the chains. And then when he gets to fall camp, I think just having 100 percent confidence in every concept that we put in, especially the first week or two where he’s had rep after rep after rep and can not only execute but also command the entire show. Just telling each guy what his responsibility is. And so he goes beyond his position, he starts leading the rest of the attack.”

Judging by Coach DeBoer’s comments, it appears he has confidence in Milroe’s ability to play the position, now it’s about playing with confidence, understanding the system and leading the other 10 players on the field.
